This confidential global REIT is a recognized leader in colocation and interconnection services, with a presence in major data center markets worldwide. At their Chicago facility—located in 350 Cermak and home to three major financial and futures exchanges—the client required a mission-critical power system upgrade to support continuous uptime and performance.

Constructiv was selected to lead the general contracting for the battery system replacement project.

The project focused on replacing five aging VRLA battery systems located on the fifth floor of the client’s 80,000 SF data center. Constructiv transformed a single battery room into five dedicated rooms, each housing a new Lithium-Ion battery system tied to a separate UPS.

To ensure operational continuity, work was executed one system at a time, minimizing risk to live data center operations and maintaining uptime for high-stakes financial clients.
