This confidential global REIT is a leader in colocation and interconnection services across all global data center markets. Their Chicago data center, which is home to three major financial and futures exchanges required a power system upgrade. They engaged Constructiv to lead the general contracting of the battery replacement project.

The work was performed on the fifth floor of their 80,000 SF data center housed in 350 Cermak, the largest carrier hotel serving the Midwest region.

Constructiv converted a single room housing five end-of-life VRLA battery systems into five dedicated rooms housing new Lithium-Ion battery systems supporting five UPS systems. Work was performed on one system at a time to minimize risk within the live data center environment.

The project was completed two months early and on budget.
