CoreSite, a real estate investment trust that provides high-performance interconnection, cloud and colocation solutions in 21 data centers across North America, required a technical builder to lead their Project and Construction Management Program. As such, CoreSite chose Constructiv to prime the work, as the Owner’s Representative and General Contractor, and upgrade the infrastructure at several of their West Coast locations.

Constructiv worked diligently to coordinate the subcontractors, manage a construction process flow, as well as, develop a working project schedule to meet all critical and non-critical milestones.

Recent projects have included the DE1 DC Plant Capacity Expansion project, which involved the installation of two high ampacity DC plants and their associated support systems.

The DE1 Chiller Plant Controls Addition project in which Constructiv’s role was to ensure that the ALC platform was accurately integrated by the ALC subcontractor and performed in a lead/leg functionality for true redundancy.

The DE2 DC Plant Replacement and Redundancy Upgrade project, which involved the process management for the replacement of an aging DC Plant; and the installation of new battery strings, along with the installation, testing, startup and burn-in of two new redundant Eltek DC Plants. Constructiv also led a very complex procedure to transition over 25 active customers utilizing DC power from this single plant.

Throughout the construction process of all projects there was zero downtime to active customer operations.

CoreSite was extremely satisfied with the work that Constructiv provided and invited the Constructiv team to continue on as their General Contractor of Record for additional retrofit projects.
